CIS — Canadian International School (Tanjong Katong)
Moving to Singapore with a school-age child takes planning. Many expatriate families consider international schools, and the fees can be a surprise.
My son attended the Canadian International School at its Tanjong Katong campus. This is a snapshot of our experience and the approximate fees we faced in 2023, not a current price list:
- Admission to school (application + confirmation fee) — 6,500 SGD (4,700 USD) — one-time payment, just to get accepted into the school.
- Annual tuition (tuition fee, grade 4–6) — 36,500 SGD (26,400 USD) — this needs to be paid every year (split into two payments), the higher the grade, the more you have to pay.
- If your child needs help with English (English Language Learners) — an additional 5,000 SGD (3,600 USD) per year.
All in all, I work here for my son’s education. He has tried several times to get into a public school, but has so far switched to a cheaper private school.
